Data sources

We track VPN ownership, jurisdiction, and documented trust history using Wikipedia, Hacker News community reporting, official vendor pages, and public app-store data. We do not run paid placements. All data verified within 72 hours. No vendor pays for placement or ranking position.

Update frequency

All pricing is verified within 72 hours. Our system re-checks every tracked tool's pricing, features, and review sources on a fixed schedule. When something changes — pricing, features, ownership — we update and note it on the relevant pages.

Scoring

Where we score, we use objective, reproducible metrics — never one AI judging another. Salman Khan reviews a sample of outputs against a fixed rubric. Human verification is the one input no model can replicate.
